Confession #1: I first started violin lessons at age 6. My teacher, Mrs. Primrose was mean so after every lesson Larry would take me to Reams (the turtle shell) and buy me a triple scoop ice cream cone. Jewel would have not liked this at all so Larry would drive around Provo until I was finished. Tonight Larry and I told Jewel this and she laughed and laughed.
Confession #2: After school, Ann Dee and I would eat junk and watch soap operas (Bo & Hope) until we heard the garage door open which meant that Jewel was home. Then we'd hurry and clean up and pretend like we were practicing the violin for the last hour.
Confession #3: When I was a sophomore in high school I was in early morning orchestra. I would arrive at the school really early before it started and instead of going to orchestra, I hung out in the commons area on the blue couches and either slept or talked with kids who got to school way too early.
Do I still play the violin?
What do you think?

Bo & Hope. Ha! Those were the days. THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
I bet you still play the violin. Or at least still know how to play, right?
Hmmm...that's a tough one. I would think so--at least a little.
I "played" the flute for a year in the 5th grade, but never practiced. At the end of the year concert, I just sat on the stage and move my fingers. I didn't play a note! Needless to say, I do not play ANY musical instrument.
I think those photos are SO ADORABLE!!!
Well, THIS IS NEWS TO ME!!!!!!!
I had no idea you played when you were small. I'm kinda thinkin you don't play now, but ya still know how!!!
You little stinker, if my kid does that kinda stuff, I guess I wouldn't want to know untill I'm Jewel's age too.
I must say I am shocked and appalled.
Man, you and AnnDee got SPOILED. We always knew that, but this is just one more nugget of info to help the cause. Dad would have beaten me rather than take me to the turtle shell reams for ice cream.
Dan, beat you for the teacher being mean to you? What are you talking about? Dad was always buying you basketball shoes and plus you never got in trouble when you carved your name into that desk at Provo High. Katy and I both would have been killed for that. If ANYONE was spoiled, it was you.
PS I watched Saved by the Bell, not Days.
Hilarious! I once played that beloved string instrument oh the good ol days
I carved Won Tai's name in a desk at Dixon & I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids. I had to stay after school for a week sanding and then refinishing the desk.
I didn't know your teacher was Mrs. Primrose. She definitely WAS mean - you deserved the ice cream. I'm afraid that I could write my own "confessions" about my violin, but just know that you're not alone!
Love this post. Hilarious. . I was a Bo and Hope watcher as well.
:)
I think you do....at least everytime you get caugh watching Days of our Lives.
K, that was sooo funny I can just picture Larry taking you to Reams and then driving around till you were done. What a cool dad!!!! My girls were shocked that you skipped class and watched soaps. THANKS for giving them some great tips. haha
