Katy...you are the best. "Did you know that the butter has tablespoon markings?" :-) Loved it. I would actually appreciate a little cooking for two with that recipe. I am coming over and you are making me that. I will bring something great....I just haven't thought of it yet. :-)
I'm cooking for four but I enjoy your blog. I enjoyed the butter measurement comment, like "Baxter's."
I get the hardboiled eggs to peel more easily, after boiling them you should drain the hot water and cover in very cold water immediately. Let them cool in very cold water. This will make the eggs easier to peel and minimize any gray discoloration of the yolks.
(My mother was a Home Ec. teacher--I'm still learning from her!)
Golden Rod eggs...that is the exact Christmas tradition that I had growing up!! What a coincidence!! I always thought we should have done it on Easter though.

You are a nicer daughter than I am. Good job! I enjoyed this episode.

I think I am going to try this today. It sounds yummy. I know it isn't Christmas today, but shouldn't we have Christmas everyday all year round?
Darling apron. Keep the episodes coming. They are fantastic!

Why is there a trash receptacle on your kitchen counter? That's simply unsanitary.
The older the eggs, the better they peel. The closer you are to the expiration date when you boil them, the better.
