I cried

today while watching this movie:

and I hate dogs.

Remember this post?

Here is my quick movie review:

I liked this movie. It wasn't what I expected - which was a romantic comedy with a dog in the mix. Owen Wilson did a great job playing a family guy and not a funny guy. Kathleen Turner should be more picky about the parts she accepts (this movie and playing Chandler's dad). In fact, maybe she should quit the business altogether so we can remember her as Peggy Sue and the romantic novelist in Romancing the Stone and the Jewel of the Nile. OK so I liked the movie - there were some parts where I wanted to gag because I really think dogs are gross. It made me cry. I even entertained the idea of owning a dog but that was for like one second. I gained a better understanding about why people love their pets so much. I can now be more sympathetic although I don't ever think I will reach the day when I will be empathetic.

I cried in that movie too. Tears ran down my cheeks as I realized I will never have these 90 minutes again. Then I thought of all the things I could have done with that precious hour-and-a-half.

That caused me to stand atop the side of the chair and continually throw myself into the aisle; vainly attempting to land on my neck. After about 20 minutes of that the credits started and we left.

I hate dogs too and couldn't help but cry. I even tried NOT crying...looking away from the screen, looking up at the ceiling so the tears would stay in, thinking about a dog peeing on my carpet. Still cried.

I think what killed me was seeing the dog be there for all the family's milestones. I can see why people have pets, too but the fact that they die just added another reason NOT to have pets to my list.

I don't think I have ever laughed so hard as while reading Mr. Jiblet's review. I think I'll just rent Old Yeller if I'm looking for a sad dog scene and save the money. Thanks for the heads up.
