Can you see me? Does this mean I'm famous?

Joe’s driver picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel in Manhatten.
Ate spaghetti and meatballs at Carmines - Joe left with both copies of the bill – guy came running after us

Ran into some guy in Joe’s ward
Ate again at a really good Cajun restaurant with Joe's friend

Ran to find the LDS temple
Ran from store to store
Ran to NBC store
Hotel to shower, and get dry – completely soaked
Lunch in Times Square
Hour and a half in TKTS line for discount tickets – got good seats for Next to Normal
Headed up to Letterman show – got my ticket, shopped a bit in the CBS store
Got to sit close enough to Courtney Cox’s mom that I made it on TV twice – when Dave climbed a ladder to give her flowers for her birthday.
Met up with Joe, walked around, sat and people watched at Times Square
Went to see Next to Normal

Three red heads ...

or four if you count Ariel ...

Yesterday I got to play with these girls ...

We ate macaroni & cheese with hot dogs. The hot dogs were more popular than the macaroni.
We watched the Little Mermaid - I still have that movie memorized.
We visited Grandpa Larry and Grandma Jewel (twice).
We looked at pictures on the computer.
We played some games on barbie.com
We played our own version of dominoes.

What are you going to be Halloween for?

Van keeps asking me this question. And Ann Dee doesn't want me to correct him cause she thinks its cute.

When I told him I was going to be Superman he said No - he was going to be Superman.

I came back and said No - I'm going to be Superman. Then he got mad.

I only teased him cause I knew he was going to be this:

Anyway, I'm going to do this 5K on Halloween morning.
I'll be the really slow Superman.

My question to you: What are you going to be Halloween for (or your kid for that matter)?

Does this ever happen to you?

WARNING - this is a sentimental post.

Recently I've had a couple of experiences where I feel like I've gone back in time and then I'm suddenly thrown back to the present ... to reality.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a volleyball game with an old college friend who was in town for just a few days. We don't talk very often but we've stayed in touch. That night sitting next to CM at the volleyball game I thought it was 1999. It was just like it used to be. But then after the game she had to go home to her husband and child.

Last Sunday I ran into another high school/college friend at church. It was in the Oak Hills Stake Center right before the 8th ward met. I wanted KSK to sit by me and go to all three meetings (or at least two). Then I looked at her belly - baby #3 was almost done cooking. KSK and I used to go to that ward when we were 18 and I'm still in that ward at 33. We chatted and it felt like old times. Then I had to go pay my tithing and she had to go check on her sunbeam.

I've been to visit friend #1 in Texas twice in the last few years. I've gone out to lunch with friend #2 a few times in the last few years. It was always great to catch up with both of them. The experiences above were not like those visits. What was the difference?

CONTEXT - give me an old friend in a new context and we catch up. Give me an old friend in an old context and we go back.

So what is the point of all of this? It makes me want to enjoy what is going on in my life right now because times change and relationships change and sometimes all you have are the memories.

Sponsor a Diva (thad be me)

A bunch of girls (mostly in my ward) are going to do the Turkey Triathlon on November 7th at the Orem Rec Center. It started out as just a group of girls getting together to exercise a bit and have fun. When we started talking about team names and t-shirt designs we came up with the idea that we should race for our friend Drew.

Drew is my friend that has cancer - the friend we bought a laptop for about a year ago when he started chemotherapy. He has his laptop and he endured lots of chemotherapy but the cancer is growing and spreading. Drew needs to start a very expensive treatment soon and we want to race for donations and sponsorships so we can help subsidize his treatment.

We are DREW'S DIVAS. We going to see who can raise the most money for Drew. I'm a bit competitive so I kinda want to win. If you have any desire at all to help Drew out, donate here. You can indicate who you are sponsoring as you check out on the paypal webpage. Make sure you put my name: Katy Knight.

Thank you very much you kind people.

If you want to join the fun - register for the turkey tri and start looking for donations and sponsors.

Today ...

Five on the Fly @ Club 90

  • I got a free bran muffin from Provo Bakery. Man that guy was nice. He liked my BYU hoodie. He also gave me those two muffins for 75 cents even though it cost 81.
  • I swam 28 laps during my lunch break. Not lengths people, laps - that means down and back. 33 is a mile. I'm almost there.
  • I ate birthday cake for a couple of co-workers and it was good
  • I drove to SLC right after work
  • I ate pizza with Naomi
  • I met Mikelle's son, Max and held him until he fell asleep
  • I partied hard at Club 90 with Vicki while Five on the Fly performed. That lead singer, Erin was better than Stevie Nicks - I'm not kidding!
  • I witnessed a kid wipe out on his skateboard in my parking garage. I don't even feel bad about it. Should I feel bad for not feeling bad?
Oh and last Friday night I went here:
