A Return to the gym ... why do you exercise?

As I walked into the gym today after work, the worker taking my key chain bar code said, "it feels like you haven't been here for awhile."

I replied, "that is cause I haven't."  I was kind of bugged for a second and then I thought that it was actually nice that they noticed I'd been gone.

Well I'm back, at least for today. I've been thinking about why I exercise. There are many reasons that people exercise ...
  • compete in a race
  • reach a goal
  • lose weight
  • be healthy
  • be strong
  • look good/attractive
  • feel good physically
  • feel good mentally and emotionally (you know those endorphins and stuff), like on this little clip I put up on YouTube awhile ago

I particularly like this reason given by Elder Christofferson from conference last week. I know, that is two posts in a row about general conference. What can I say, it was a really good conference.

As our body is the instrument of our spirit, it is vital that we care for it as best we can. We should consecrate its powers to serve and further the work of Christ. Said Paul, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God” (Romans 12:1)

I'm not very good at working out or FHE I try and do both once in a while because I know they're good for me. You can join me anytime for either.
